Our Story

Pathways to Education Canada is a national, charitable organization celebrating over 15 years of successful programming. Pathways' award-winning combination of academic, financial, social, and one-on-one supports continue to help youth in low-income communities to graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education, training, or employment.

With the support of Employment and Social Development Canada, Pathways has made it a priority to support post-secondary transitions by focusing on employability skills for Pathways youth. With this value in mind, Pathways approached several close corporate partners to inquire about their interest in providing Pathways alumni and students with internship opportunities. With an overwhelmingly positive response, and with the support of Northbridge Financial Corporation, Pathways was able to start the initiative.

The internship website, launched in January 2017, is co-led by the Employment Advisory Council and Pathways to Education Canada. Together they created the site to provide insight, knowledge, and tools to support Pathways partners to successfully develop an internship program at their organization.
