About Pathways

Every year, thousands of Canadian students make the life-altering decision to drop out of high school. In some of the country’s most vulnerable neighbourhoods, up to 50 per cent of students do not graduate from high school, taking a dramatic toll on our communities, our health and justice systems, and our economy.

Since 2001, Pathways to Education has been helping youth from low-income communities to graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education, training, or employment. Pathways addresses the barriers that can stand in the way of high school graduation and the potential for a brighter future by providing leadership, expertise, and a community-based program proven to lower dropout rates.

Pathways to Education is a national, charitable organization working to make Canada a Graduation Nation. Partnering with dedicated organizations in low-income communities, Pathways supports youth to graduate from high school and achieve their full potential. Our award-winning combination of academic, financial, social, and one-on-one supports continues to successfully break the cycle of poverty through the power of education.

The results of this unique program have been ground-breaking, improving graduation rates by an average of 85 per cent across Pathways communities. Over 73 per cent of all students who graduated from high school while in the Pathways Program have gone on to post-secondary education or training.
